The body of a woman has been found buried in a potato in Molo town, Nakuru County.
The unidentified body had burn marks on one hand and was some parts were disintegrated.
A shovel suspected to have been used to bury the body was found on a roof of a rental house next to the farm.
A resident, Irene Njeri, said the owner of the potato farm was weeding when he unearthed the body on Wednesday.
“We do not know who the girl is but we suspect she is not from this estate,” said Ms Njeri.
Chief Vincent Asanyo said a suspect is in police custody in connection with the incident.
“Clothes and shoes suspected to belong to the dead woman have been found in the suspect’s house,” said Mr Asanyo.
Strands of braids suspected to belong to the victim were also found in a basin inside the suspect’s house.
“A post mortem test will be done on the body to ascertain the cause of death,” said Mr Asanyo.
